August Connected

This month Revd. Roy Shaw provides some profound thoughts on the subject of ‘belonging’ within the family & society, and within Christian fellowship.
Tony Service notes that August has been adopted by the Circuit as Bible Month; this year the appointed texts come from Colossians 1 & 2.
I pass on a report shamelessly lifted from the Diocese of York website of Revd. Rob Suekarran’s Licensing led by Bishop John. I couldn’t attend, but note that wine, coffee and chocolate cake were involved!
The Brayton Mothers’ Union record an amazingly inspirational talk by Freya Coupland, and Brayton WI gets muddy with archaeologist Gillian Hovell. Linda Crackles reports on progress in the production of inspirational banners at St Wilfrid’s, and Lynn Allan writes about the Children’s Society reaching the 50-year milestone of Christingle Services.
I report on the good work of the Selby Community Store, the Parish Picnic and Beer in the Ancient World.
