Remembering HRH Prince Philip

Hello everyone

You will, I’m sure, have heard the sad news of the death, today, of the Duke of Edinburgh. I’m equally sure you will join with me in praying for the Queen and the whole Royal family at this very difficult time.

There will be a recorded short service on YouTube to mark the life and passing of Prince Philip. It will go live at 10am this Sunday 11th  April.

Revd. Roy Shaw will be leading the in-person parish communion service this Sunday 9.30am at St Francis, Thorpe Willoughby, where the Duke and the royal family will be remembered.

Both St Francis and St Wilfrid’s church buildings will be open at the following times for those who would like to sign a condolence book, light a candle and/or simply have a moment of quiet reflection to remember the Duke, the Queen and the royal family:

St Francis: Sunday 11th April 2-4pm

St Wilfrid’s: Saturday 10th April 2-4pm, and Sunday 11th April 2-4pm

Blessings

Revd. Pete

God of our lives,
we give thanks for the life of Prince Philip,
for his love of our country,
and for his devotion to duty.
We entrust him now to your love and mercy,
through our Redeemer Jesus Christ. Amen.

A prayer on the death of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh
